About Us

At Northern Kites, we're all about getting people on the water, progressing safely, and having an unreal time while doing it.

We're a friendly, independent watersports school based on the Wirral, specialising in kitesurfing, wingfoiling, wingsurfing and pump foiling. Whether it's your very first session or you're chasing your next milestone, we focus on proper progression, great coaching, and keeping the stoke high.

What We Do

We run lessons for all levels, from complete beginners to confident riders looking to level up. Our sessions take place at two incredible locations:

  • Wallasey Beach – perfect for kitesurfing with consistent conditions and loads of space

  • West Kirby Marine Lake – a world-class spot for wingfoiling, wingsurfing and pump foiling in a controlled, beginner-friendly environment

All lessons are taught by fully qualified, experienced instructors, using modern, well-maintained equipment so you can focus on learning and enjoying the ride.

More Than Just Lessons

Northern Kites isn't just about ticking off skills — it's about the whole experience. From your first session, you're welcomed into a super friendly watersports community. Sunset sessions, beach hangs, post-lesson chats and shared progress are a big part of what makes Northern Kites special.

A lot of our students turn into regular riders, mates, and part of the crew — and that's exactly how we like it.

Our Approach

  • Safety always comes first
  • Small group sizes for faster progression
  • Clear, confidence-building coaching
  • A relaxed, supportive vibe on and off the water

We believe learning watersports should feel exciting, not intimidating — and that you'll progress best when you're comfortable, smiling, and having fun.

Why Northern Kites?

Because we genuinely care about your experience. From your first enquiry to your first ride (and beyond), we're here to help you progress, connect with the community, and fall in love with life on the water.

If you're ready to start your journey — or take it further — we'd love to welcome you down to the beach.
