Why North Wales riders learn at Wallasey Beach
North Wales has some great kitesurf beaches — Rhosneigr, Rhyl and Talacre among them — but many are exposed, have strong tidal currents or no lesson provider on the beach. For learning from scratch, a lot of riders from Flintshire, Wrexham and the coast make the short trip across the Dee to Wallasey instead.
- Close to the border. From Deeside or Mold, Wallasey Beach is often nearer than the best Welsh beaches.
- A beginner-friendly beach. Wide, firm sand and a shallow lagoon at low tide give you space to practise without deep water or crowds.
- Lessons booked around the forecast, so you aren't committing to a long drive on a day with no wind.
- Skills that travel home. Once you can ride independently, you'll be ready for Welsh spots like Rhyl and Talacre — and we're happy to point you to the right ones for your level.
We base lessons at Wallasey Beach Club, with changing rooms, showers and a café, so you can arrive, change and get straight on the beach.
Which lesson to book
Most beginners start with the Intro Day, then carry on with 1:1 or two-person lessons.

Kitesurf Intro Day
4–5 hours, max 2 people. Beach skills with trainer kites, then your first water session.
