Lessons are booked around the forecast, not fixed dates.
Wind and weather decide the best lesson days. Forecasts are most reliable 3–5 days ahead, so we send lesson notifications as soon as conditions line up — you then book the slot that suits you. Read the booking process first so you know exactly how it works.
Why Liverpool riders learn at Wallasey Beach
Liverpool’s own waterfront is a busy shipping river, so it isn’t a place to learn. The nearest stretch of coast with the space, sea breeze and shallow water beginners need is the north Wirral, and Wallasey Beach is the part of it closest to the city.
It suits people coming from Liverpool for a few reasons:
- It’s close. You can fit a lesson around a working day or a free afternoon without needing a whole weekend.
- The beach is huge at low tide. Wallasey’s wide sand and shallow lagoon give you room to make mistakes safely.
- You learn in real sea wind. The prevailing westerlies blow in off the Irish Sea, so the wind is smoother than anything you’d find in the city.
- There’s a proper base. Wallasey Beach Club has changing rooms, showers and a café.
Because lessons are booked around the wind and tide, Liverpool students usually sign up for lesson notifications and pick a day when a good forecast lines up with their week. Being close means you can say yes at short notice when the wind is good.

Which lesson to book
Most beginners start with the Intro Day, then carry on with 1:1 or two-person lessons.
